Postby dazyduke » Sun Jan 06, 2013 2:44 pm

Hey there,

I'm going to Portland in a few weeks to see Trey band and Wondering if anyone on here could recommend a good pub or restuarant to grab some beers and good food.

Thanks,

Thanks b632,

these are the 3 locations i've come up with my searching online,

Sebago
Brian Boru
Dogfish

Kind of looking for something close to the state theater so we can have a few beers and walk to the show.

Thanks again for the advice, I'll look into the east ender.... :)

I would second the Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free St. Good pre-show spot (you won't be alone), easy walk to the State.

Norm's Downtown Lounge is right across the street from the State. Local 188 is about 3 blocks away. Norm's is BBQ-oriented http://www.downtownloungeportland.com , Local 188 much more variedhttp://www.local188.com/. Local 188 is a bigger room (more of a restaurant than a bar but still has a good-sized bar and pretty relaxed atmoshere))than Norms and Norm's tends to be crowded anyway. Can't go wrong at either place.

Mollys, Grill/Corner Room, Duckfat (Not really a bar, but UNREAL food) Commercial St. Pub, 3 Dollar Deweys. And if you're feeling poshish, Hugos.
That's just like, your opinion, man.

Nosh Kitchen Bar on Congress (a few blocks east of The State) has an awesome array of food and beverages. From burgers to oysters on the half shell and plenty in between. The bacon dusted fries are a must.
Dogfish, Norm's or 188 are excellent choices as well.

Have fun at the show. I'm on call this week so no go for me. Check out Congress Street Bar and Grill right next to the State. Former partners of Norm's, nice people.

TAB has been really good and it's always a treat when Trey gives the band a break and does acoustic Phish tunes or covers.
