Last year they opened the third Saturday in December which happened to be Dec 15

This year they opened the third Saturday in December which happens to be Dec 21

I am guessing they have a employee / staff expense budget tied to this opening weekend.

Not making excuses. As a season pass holder I would appreciate a few more opportunities early and late to get some days under my belt.

You get a bit of December, January, February, March and weekends in April..no black out dates.

When we open Saturday, you will find a lot of good quality snow and skiing. While Titcomb and Camden open before us this year, I expect we will be open long after they close. From reports I have heard, there hasn't been a major ski visit day at any resort so far to date at any Maine resort.

And Sugarloaf will be open long after you close. Why do have to throw stones at the small guys? Not cool.

Sorry, Tooth wasn't meant as a dig. just stating we stay open later. Sorry you felt that was an insult. Happy you guys got plenty of freshies. Notice time of post. after 1am, foot in mouth disease sometimes happens. :(

Bah, the only way to be insulted by your statement is to read the statement looking to be insulted. If you want to stay affordable, it makes no sense to blow money on an early season opening with three trails and minimal traffic/ticket sales from big markets. It takes a lot of snow to spin the Rangeley.
