1-28-24 report

Postby Pow on the Mao » Mon Jan 29, 2024 12:40 pm

hi all-
we just moved up for winter. here's a report for folks who haven't been up in a bit. feel free to add!

-Bullies back to 'normal'; bathroom trailer gone (boo); PGA pavilion gone
-appears to be a new ski trail directly behind Bullies; new chasm connecting bucksaw unload to western most of new trails (eliminates sidestepping uphill)
-The Rack has a new breakfast sandwich outpost for weekend mornings
-new menu at Rack. Chef Hank from 45 North is now at Rack. food is much improved.

-seems like ~30" base depth. trees officially not open but skiable. just crusty and weird. 1 more storm
-KP not fully open yet. just haulback, widow/flume
-new magic carpet is a bubble. now on par with what more other resorts have. looks good down there.
-looks like sugarloaf finally figured out food trucks. the new-ish setup is very nice. good job.
-all this rain and ice locked in base at summit. setup well if we get snow. should stick.

yeah - SB is 99% open including all the glades with 110" reported total snowfall (vs SL 83"), plus its sunnier & warmer over there and they'll probably have free beer tomorrow :D
